Principal photography is under way on Dark Castle Entertainment’s action adventure “The Losers.” The film is based on the comic book series published under DC Comics’ Vertigo imprint, and is being directed by Sylvain White (“Stomp the Yard”).

“The Losers” features an ensemble cast that includes Jeffrey Dean Morgan (“The Watchmen”), Zoë Saldana (“Star Trek”), Chris Evans (“Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer”), Idris Elba (“Obsessed,” “RocknRolla”), Columbus Short (“Stomp the Yard,” upcoming “Whiteout”), Holt McCallany (“Vantage Point”), Óscar Jaenada (“Che: Part Two”), and Jason Patric (“In the Valley of Elah”).

A tale of double cross and revenge, “The Losers” centers upon the members of an elite U.S. Special Forces unit sent into the Bolivian jungle on a search and destroy mission. The team—Clay (Morgan), Jensen (Evans), Roque (Elba), Pooch (Short), and Cougar (Jaenada)—find themselves the target of a lethal betrayal instigated from inside by a powerful enemy known only as Max (Patric).

Presumed dead, the group makes plans to even the score when they’re joined by the mysterious Aisha (Saldana), a beautiful operative with her own agenda. Working together, they must remain deep undercover while tracking the heavily-guarded Max, a ruthless man bent on embroiling the world in a new high-tech global war.

Sylvain White directs “The Losers” from a screenplay by Peter Berg (“Friday Night Lights”) and James Vanderbilt (“Zodiac”), based upon comic books written by Andy Diggle and illustrated by Jock. The film is being produced by Joel Silver (“Orphan,” the “Matrix” trilogy) and Academy Award-winning screenwriter Akiva Goldsman (“A Beautiful Mind,” “I Am Legend”).

The behind-the-scenes creative team includes White’s “Stomp the Yard” director of photography Scott Kevan and editor David Checel, as well as production designer Aaron Osborne (“Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang”), Oscar-nominated visual effects supervisor Richard Yuricich (“Blade Runner,” “Mission: Impossible II”) and costume designer Magali Guidasci (“AVP: Alien vs. Predator”).

“The Losers” will shoot entirely on location in Puerto Rico.

The film is scheduled for an April 2010 release and will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.

“The Blind Side” depicts the true story of Michael Oher, a homeless African-American youngster from a broken home, taken in by a well-to-do white family who help him fulfill his potential. At the same time, Oher’s presence in the Touhys’ lives leads them to some insightful self-discoveries of their own.

Warner Bros. Pictures reveals that principal photography has begun on Alcon Entertainment’s “The Blind Side,” starring Sandra Bullock, Tim McGraw, Kathy Bates and newcomer Quinton Aaron. Filming started on April 17 on location in Atlanta, Georgia, under the direction of John Lee Hancock (“The Rookie”).

Hancock also adapted the screenplay from the book by Michael Lewis, The Blind Side: Evolution of a Game. Gil Netter (“Marley and Me”) and Alcon co-founders and co-CEOs Broderick Johnson and Andrew Kosove are producing the film.

As a film project, “The Blind Side” was initiated in September 2006 when Netter read an article about Oher in a New York Times Magazine story. He optioned the book, which was released a month later. Hancock was then enlisted to write and direct.

Sandra Bullock stars as Leigh Anne Touhy, the sharp-witted, compassionate matriarch of the conservative suburban family that takes in Oher. She will next be seen in “The Proposal,” in which she stars with Ryan Reynolds.

Tim McGraw stars opposite Bullock as Leigh Anne’s sports enthusiast husband, Sean. A Grammy Award-winning music artist, McGraw has also starred in several films, including “Friday Night Lights” and, most recently, “Four Christmases.”

Oscar-winning actress Kathy Bates (“Misery”) portrays Miss Sue, a tutor who helps Oher turn his academic career around. She was recently seen in Alcon’s “P.S. I Love You,” starring with Hilary Swank and Gerard Butler.

Quinton Aaron will play the central role of Michael Oher. He was previously seen in the film “Be Kind Rewind,” starring Jack Black and Mos Def, as well as episodic television and short films.

Slated for release in November 2009, “The Blind Side” will be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.

In another announcement, Warner Bros. Pictures says that principal photography will begin on April 27 on Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures’ epic action adventure “Clash of the Titans,” being directed by Louis Leterrier (“The Incredible Hulk”). The film stars Sam Worthington (“Terminator Salvation,” the upcoming “Avatar”) and Academy Award nominees Liam Neeson (“Taken,” “Schindler’s List”) and Ralph Fiennes (the “Harry Potter” films, “The English Patient”).

tsIt’s going to be Sony Pictures Releasing International’s first-ever game created for the social networking platform, Twitter.  In anticipation of the worldwide release of the motion picture Terminator Salvation, Twitter users will have the chance to join the human resistance against the machines.

It was announced Monday by Sal Ladestro, executive vice president of marketing, Sony Pictures Releasing International (SPRI). Users can follow tweets from the resistance at http://www.Twitter.com/Resistance2018.

In the Terminator Salvation Twitter game, members of the human resistance communicate with each other through Twitter and turn to the community for help in decoding intercepted Skynet transmissions.

Players earn points through timely assistance in decoding these messages and, with these points, rise in rank within the Resistance Army. Players must constantly be on guard against the machines, which periodically and randomly choose a number of players and penalize them a percentage of their points. A companion blog augments the information within Twitter and hosts a leader board for the game.

“Twitter users can join John Connor in the war against the machines by following the tweets at Resistance 2018. In the fight against Skynet and the Terminators, mass communication is vital, so it’s no surprise that the resistance would turn to Twitter. We think this is the perfect environment for the Terminator game as it allows users to interact with the movie, their friends, and other game players instantaneously,” says Ladestro.

Twitter’s micro-blogging social networking site has been expanding exponentially across the globe in recent months. Between February 2008 and February 2009, according to SPRI, new accounts on Twitter were up 1,841%, with an 87% increase between January 2009 and February 2009 alone. It says more than 90% of Twitter users choose to make their updates public.

Terminator Salvation is set in post-apocalyptic 2018, where John Connor (Christian Bale) is the man fated to lead the human resistance against Skynet and its army of Terminators. But the future that Connor was raised to believe in is altered in part by the appearance of Marcus Wright (Sam Worthington), a stranger whose last memory is of being on death row.

Connor must decide whether Marcus has been sent from the future, or rescued from the past. As Skynet prepares its final onslaught, Connor and Marcus both embark on an odyssey that takes them into the heart of Skynet’s operations, where they uncover the terrible secret behind the possible annihilation of mankind.

Terminator Salvation will be released in the U.S. on May 21, 2009 by Warner Bros. Pictures. SPRI is distributing the film in most international territories between May 27, 2009 and June 13, 2009.

oarWarner Bros. Pictures in association with Legendary Pictures will present “Observe and Report” premiere Monday, April 6th at the Grauman’s Chinese Theater in Los Angeles. Screening is scheduled to begin 7:00 PM. From the film, Seth Rogen, Anna Faris, Ray Liotta, Michael Peña, Writer/Director Jody Hill and Producer Donald De Line are expected to attend the show.

Here’s an overview. At the Forest Ridge Mall, head of security Ronnie Barnhardt (Seth Rogen) patrols his jurisdiction with an iron fist. The master of his domain, he combats skateboarders, shoplifters, and the occasional unruly customer while dreaming of the day when he can swap his flashlight for a badge and a gun.

Ronnie’s delusions of grandeur are put to the test when the mall is struck by a flasher. Driven by his personal duty to protect and serve the mall and its patrons, Ronnie seizes the opportunity to showcase his underappreciated law enforcement talents on a grand scale, hoping his solution of this crime will earn him a coveted spot at the police academy and the heart of his elusive dream girl Brandi (Anna Faris), the hot makeup counter clerk who won’t give him the time of day.

But his single-minded pursuit of glory launches a turf war with the equally competitive Detective Harrison (Ray Liotta) of the Conway Police, and Ronnie is confronted with the challenge of not only catching the flasher, but getting him before the real cops do.

Seth Rogen stars in the dark comedy “Observe and Report,” written and directed by Jody Hill. Donald De Line is the producer, with Andrew Haas, Marty Ewing, Thomas Tull and Jon Jashni serving as executive producers. The film also stars Anna Faris, Michael Peña, Celia Weston, and Ray Liotta.

“Observe and Report” in theaters April 10, 2009.
